Hurricane Dorian soon to hit Florida

Hurricane Dorian will soon hit Florida's coast. Currently the hurricane is about to level parts of the Bahamas, where it reached wind speeds of about 175 mph.

 The National Hurricane Center in Miami is not sure yet how strong the impact on Florida will be, but recommends locals to prepare for the worst.

UN, NGOs launch ‘Welcome to School’ info campaign for Ukrainians in Bulgaria

       The United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in partnership with the Access to Rights Foundation (ARF), the Astra Forum Foundation (AAF), the Bulgarian Red Cross and the For Good Foundation have launched the “Welcome to School” information campaign to enroll Ukrainian children in schools in Bulgaria.      Unicef said that the campaign aims to support the efforts of Bulgaria’s Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health to provide access to education and healthcare.       The campaign aims to reach (online and offline) around 20 000 people and help families learn about all the benefits and specifics of the Bulgarian education system and be aware of the steps they should take, Unicef said.       According to national authorities, there are more than 39 000 children from Ukraine in Bulgaria.       “Some of them continue to study on...

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro hospitalized

After hiccupping for 10 days straight, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has been admitted to hospital with what doctors said was an intestinal obstruction that could require emergency surgery. President Bolsonaro, 66, was admitted to the Armed Forces Hospital in the capital of Brasilia early in the morning and was "feeling well", according to an initial statement that said doctors were examining his persistent hiccups. But hours later, the President's office said the surgeon who operated on Mr Bolsonaro after he was stabbed in the abdomen during the 2018 presidential campaign decided to transfer him to Sao Paulo, where he will undergo additional tests to evaluate the need for an emergency surgery. United States considers sending modern tanks to Ukraine

       The United States might be supplying Ukraine with modern tanks. However, first, the Ukrainian servicemen should learn to use and maintain them.       A senior US military official told CNN about this on condition of anonymity.       The issue primarily lies in Ukraine’s ability to maintain these tanks and ensure the training of crews for effective combat use.        Tanks are “absolutely on the table” for the US to provide to Ukraine in the future, according to a senior US military official, but are not an option for the immediate fight because of issues with training, maintenance, and sustainment.          “We’re looking at the entirety of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and considering for the future what capabilities they will need and how the US and our allies will be able to support Ukraine in building out those capabilities,” said the official.    It is currently ...
