Terrorists created an environmental disaster in Denmark

The terrorists who sabotaged the Nordstream gaspipelines on Danish territory have created an environmental disaster.

Not only were many beaches closed for public due to the contamination of parts of the Baltic Sea in Denmark, but the impact for the global climate could be catastrophic.

According to various scientists, the gas pipelines contain between 300 and 500 million cubic meters of gas, or between 200,000 and 300,000 metric tons of methane.

This amount has the same warming power over a 20-year period as 17 to 25 million metric tons of CO2. If all the gas escaped, the emissions would be equivalent to one-third to one-half of Denmark's annual emissions, or 4-7% of France's emissions.

"The impact would be similar to that of a million cars for a year, which is colossal," added Thomas Lauvaux, a researcher at the Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l'Environnement.

It is believed that this was a state-sponsored terrorist attack. Ukraine is the main suspect, but publicly nobody wants to comment about it. If true, it would be saddening news, concerning the huge suoport Scandinavia and the Baltic States gave to Ukraine. The support will not stop, but would have a bad taste in the future. Hopefully the terrorists soon will be identified and held accountable.

For the climate and surfers it is sadly too late. My favorite beaches are now like toxic waste disposals. Swimming not allowed. Thank you very much...
